Edgeware is a smart contract chain with a community-managed treasury, decentralised proposal system and network of DAOs. Using a revolutionary on-chain funding system, entrepreneurs, developers and creatives alike can receive funding for their projects. Governed by thousands, owned by no-one, open to all.
As part of a brand working group, we were tasked with creating an identity that perfectly represented this progressive, diverse and empowering network. Taking an engaging, community-driven approach allowed the process and outcome to be truly reflective of the network's ethos and vision.
The identity is focussed around a brand narrative aimed at empowering people to create and build the next generation of platforms and products. With a community that is made up of a variety of collective entities, all working on different projects simultaneously whilst remaining part of a whole, the visual system needed to reflect this.
At the core of the identity is a distinctive three-dimensional symbol designed to represent the strength of the network when all constituent parts come together. These structural blocks can then be separated and used individually, further reinforcing the idea of creative freedom within each collective. As Edgeware also has its own native token (EDG), it was vital to ensure that the symbol was unique and unmistakable alongside other cryptocurrencies.
The identity system extends into fluid gradient textures, as well as vibrant and futuristic graphics depicting the Edgeware ecosystem. A brand bible was created to lay the foundations for future expansion of the network and initial exploration into tangible branded assets was carried out as the network looks to longer term commercial projects & campaigns.
